INVESTIGATION
BUREAU
The Detective Bureau is responsible for initiating and conducting criminal investigations into crimes of violence, such as murder, assault, and robbery, as well as property-related crimes, such as burglary and theft.
Sergeant Alex Lape is the Detective Bureau Commander.
Sergeant Alex Lape received his Ohio Peace Officer Certification in 1992 and has been a deputy with the Fairfield County Sheriff's Office since 1993.
Sergeant Lape has worked as a supervisor in each division of the Sheriff's Office and most recently was assigned to the Community Services Division before moving to the Investigation Bureau in 2011.
