Vacation Check Program
Sheriff Dave Phalen offers a free service to residents of Fairfield County referred to as the Vacation Check program. The program allows county residents the peace of mind that their property is being watched while they are out of town up to 30 days. A deputy checks your home at least once a day, while you are away.
When calling to request a vacation watch please have the following information available:
- Information about your home such as color and style.
- Whether or not there will be any lights on inside or outside and if they utilize automatic timers.
- The number of vehicles left on the property or in the garage and a description of each including license plate.
- Whether or not there is a home security system installed and the name of the monitoring company.
- Will anyone have a key for access to the residence in case of emergency?
- Are there any pets being left at the residence in case of emergency?
- When will you be departing and returning.
You can request a vacation watch by calling 740-653-5223 or 800-808-5223.
