Chief Deputy Marc Churchill Bio

Chief Deputy Marc Churchill has been a member of the Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office since September 1992.  He was promoted to Sergeant in 2000.

In 2012, former Sheriff Phalen promoted him to Lieutenant. He served as the Patrol Bureau Commander and Jail Bureau Commander until 2021.

Churchill has worked in various positions during his employment such as the Communications Bureau Supervisor, Violet Twp. Sub-station Supervisor and a Patrol & Jail Shift Supervisor.  He was a member of the Sheriff’s Emergency Response Team (SERT), Community Services as a DARE Officer, Sheriff’s Office Bicycle Patrol Unit and has been a Firearms Instructor for the Sheriff’s Office since 2006.

Chief Deputy Churchill is a recipient of the FBI-LEEDA Trilogy Award for completing courses for all levels of Law Enforcement Leadership.

Responsibilities serving as the Chief Deputy are the overall operations of the Corrections Bureau, Civil Bureau and Communications Bureau, he answers directly to the Sheriff.

Chief Deputy Churchill is a lifelong resident of Fairfield County and resides in Lancaster with his wife Kellie Jo and he has two children.
